Unravelling Channel Structure–Diffusivity Relationships in Zeolite ZSM‐5 at the Single‐Molecule Level

The development of improved zeolite materials for applications in separation and catalysis requires understanding mass transport. Herein, diffusion single molecules is tracked the straight sinusoidal channels industrially relevant ZSM-5 zeolites using a combination single-molecule localization microscopy uniformly oriented thin films. Distinct motion behaviors are observed with same geometry, suggesting heterogeneous guest–host interactions. Quantification heterogeneities suggests that geometry dictates mobility behavior guest molecules, resulting anisotropy. study hierarchical shows addition secondary pore networks primarily enhances diffusivity channels, thus alleviating limitations microporous zeolites.
